On Friday March 13th at 9 am in the Maverick Room, two books from the Riverdale curriculum will be discussed in tandem: 1984 by George Orwell and The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, both chilling political classics that remain timely today. Haven’t read both of the books? Haven’t read *either* of the books? No worries — come anyway! Join us for a lively discussion (with snacks) and help us choose our selections for the rest of the academic year.
Future meetings:
April 10th: The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown, a true underdog story about how a team of working-class boys from the UW raced their way into the Hitler Olympics in 1936.
May 8th and June 5th: titles to be announced
