Riverdale High School Drama Presents their Winter Musical

urinetown 1 copy

“Urinetown.  Is that really the title?”Urinetown is pretty much your typical musical. Boy meets girl, who happens to be big baddie’s daughter, they fall in love, lead revolution against evil oppressors and live happily ever after… oh wait. Wrong show. Urinetown is an earnest tale of love, greed, and revolution. The show is set in a town plagued by a 20-year drought, where water has become so scarce that private toilets have become unthinkable. At the mercy of a single dominating corporation who maintains a monopoly on the town’s public amenities, the destitute citizens must pay towering taxes and fines to carry out their most private and basic of needs. Out of the mass of the pitiable, a hero rises to lead his fellow citizens against the tyrannical regime. Drawing from West Side Story, Chicago, Pippin, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables among others, the show irreverently pays witty homage to the great American musical theatre tradition. Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective of one of America’s greatest art forms. January 30th at 7:00pm, January 31st at 7:00PM and February 2nd at 2:00pm and 7:00pm.Performances at the World Trade Center121 Salmon Street Portland, ORTo buy tickets:

Portland Knee ClinicGot Instruments?
If your child has stopped playing their instrument or you have an extra one, the grade school would LOVE it if you would consider donating it to the RGS music program.  As some of you know, playing a musical instrument is mandatory in the 5/6 at RGS.  PTC is trying to relieve the burden on some families by expanding the lending library.  Your instrument does not need to be in pristine condition; RGS PTC will pay for repairs.  Either give it to Sam to have transported to the grade school, or drop it off at the RGS front office.  If you have any questions, please contact Molly Scholz at
