Join us for our final meeting of the school year on Friday, June 9 at 1 pm. We will meet in the home of Mary Brazell at 11020 SW Esquiline Circus (enter from Palatine Hill Road, near the intersection with Military, just past Lewis & Clark College). We’ll talk books over a potluck lunch, so please contribute your favorite appetizer, light lunch item, or dessert to share; Mary will provide cold beverages. We’ll start with a discussion of Between the World and Me, a searing exploration of what it means to be black in America today by Ta-Nehisi Coates. Following that, we’ll toast and roast our past book selections, and discuss potential titles for the first three months of the next academic year, so come prepared with ideas! Also, if you are so inclined, bring some books to swap for summer reading. Whether you’ve come to none, some, or all of this year’s meetings, we’d love to see you there!
