The City of Portland plans to close the south end of Terwilliger Boulevard for up to one year, beginning in November, in order to install 7,000+ feet of sewer pipe into the road from Powers Court by Tryon Creek State Park all the way down to Route 43. A major concern about this project is that the proposed traffic detour around the project is too long and motorists will look for short cuts through the neighborhood and by the grade school. The city is hosting an Open House to more fully explain the project and planned traffic detours from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 10, at the Tryon Creek Nature Center. If you would like to learn how this will affect your commute to/from Riverdale Schools or to/from the neighborhood to Portland, you can attend the meeting or contact Ashley.Tjaden@portlandoregon.gov for more information or click here to sign up for alerts:  http://www.portlandoregon.gov/bes/article/413280
