Sophomores: Spend three days with NASA scientists

Introducing the Western Aerospace Scholars Sophomore Program – a free NASA-designed science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program for Oregon high school students. Sophomores who complete an online distance-learning program in March will be invited to participate in a three-day summer experience with STEM professionals, NASA scientists, university students and STEM educators. The curriculum, developed with NASA and the University of Washington, focuses on NASA’s history and the space environment around the Earth, including its control by solar activity and the potential opportunities for human exploration of the solar system. There is no cost to participate in the online learning or summer experience. The online program runs March 6-April 3 with the three-day summer experiences being held at a variety of locations around the state. Find information and applications at www.museumofflight.org/WAS.
