This year’s Festival of One Act Plays is a collection of one act plays by the American playwright David Ives, called “All in the Timing,” which was written between 1987 and its Off-Broadway premiere in 1993. The acts include: “Sure Thing,” “Words, Words, Words,” “Seven Menus,” “The Universal Language” and “A Singular Kind of Guy.” The short plays are almost all comedies (or comedy-drama), focusing mainly on language and wordplay, existentialist perspectives on life and meaning, and the complications involved in romantic relationships. The production features 16 student actors.
