The Community Transitional School (CTS) is located in North East Portland, about half an hour from Riverdale. It is a school that is dedicated to children whose families are homeless, in transition and experiencing chronic poverty-related crises. Their purpose is to provide them with a stable, supportive environment that promotes both their personal and academic growth.
This season, our 7th-grade Leadership students have ‘adopted’ the Community Transitional School (dedicated to children whose families are homeless, in transition and experiencing chronic poverty-related crises) for the holidays, and seek your help in collecting enough nutritious food items and clothes to see these families through to the new year.
Collection bins will be located in the main lobby starting this Friday, Dec. 2 through Monday, Dec. 12. we would like to collect enough clothing and nutritious food items to help these families over the holidays. We can collect any donated items at Tuesday morning drop off between 8:00 and 8:25 a.m. There will also be collection bins near the front office until Monday, December 12th.
There are many needs but their greatest at this time of year are:
New or gently used hoodies – size 4T – adult XL
New or gently used sneakers – any child or adult size
Food for holiday baskets including: canned tuna, canned chicken, pasta, pasta sauce, boxes of macaroni and cheese, jars of peanut butter, jars of jelly, cans of baked beans, apple sauce, granola or Power Bars, pancake mix, syrup
