The Grade School PTC communicates with parents, teachers, and the Riverdale community in the following ways:
The PTC holds at least three (3) General Meetings during the school year. Meetings are announced two (2) weeks in advance in parent pack. Occasionally there will be scheduled public speakers, Q&A with the Principal, etc. Meeting agendas and minutes are posted on the Meetings/Minutes page.
The PTC publishes an email weekly newsletter. This email is sent every Friday to let the Riverdale community know the latest events and PTC related information. This is a must read if you want to know what is happening at the school and in the district and community.
The PTC website (www.riverdaleptc.org) is updated continuously throughout the year with the latest school and PTC information. It has links to the numerous volunteer opportunities at the school and surrounding events, as well as the PTC Store (where you can pay annual PTC fees, purchase tickets to Party Packs, Ladies’ Stag, Carnival, etc.), and links to register for Community School, as well as other helpful school information. Over the course of the year, if your email address changes, please notify the PTC Communications chair at: RGSCommunications@riverdaleptc.org
There are two Grade School bulletin boards for parents to peruse: One inside located across from the Preschool classroom and one exterior bulletin board adjacent to the bicycle pavilion near the playground.
The PTC Vice President will, from time to time, communicate urgent or time sensitive event or other PTC-related information via the Room Parent Communications point people. The Room Parent Communications point person is selected around the Back-to-School timeframe and are the keepers of their classroom’s email and contact list. They are responsible for disseminating communications from the PTC Vice President or the Teacher to their class parents as requested.
Our annual budget includes expenses that may be incurred by volunteers. The form for expense authorization/reimbursement may be found in the front office and on the PTC website. Each program’s chair is to meet at least annually with the PTC President or Vice President to review the budget, expense authorization process, etc.
