On Saturday night, more than 300 people said “bon voyage” to their cares and enjoyed a festive, globally themed evening that allowed Riverdale School District to say “bonjour” to a night of fundraising that exceeded all expectations! Although exact figures are still being calculated, the paddle raises alone collected an impressive amount for PTC programs and Principals’ wish lists. More than 84 grade school and high school families raised their paddles at the auction and online, contributing $40,000 to RGS for outdoor learning and technology integration, and $40,000 to RHS for field studies.
Especially generous donations came from Just Add Power (Taft and Mina Stricklin); Oregon Reproductive Medicine (Jonathan and Amanda Hurliman); The Meier Family; Rob Lee and Tammi Dereiko; Nitin Khanna; Amber and Henry Hillman; Leslie and Mark Mahler; Adrienne and David Hill; Ajnya and Rakesh Pai; Leon Fabrycki and Staci Schwartz; and Jillian and Ron Cain.

A heartfelt gracias, arigato and danke go out to the many attendees, donors, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, entertainers and everyone else involved in this annual fundraising event. We’ll be reporting on our overall numbers soon, but we are so pleased that we surpassed our fundraising goals and are thrilled with generosity, enthusiasm and support of the Riverdale Community. If you purchased items at the auction and forgot to pick them up on your way out, stop by the grade school office and speak to Suzanne. Missed out on the global glamour? Hoping for a chance at that giant family sing-along with Thomas Lauderdale of Pink Martini? Not to worry—all nine Party Packs are officially revealed and are now for sale online, though some have already sold out!
